It is with genuine excitement that we can now bring you details of the Norwich Sewcials Retreat, offering you a dressmaking weekend at the beautiful Belsey Bridge Centre in rural Suffolk.
Leave your cares behind and spend the weekend sewing and relaxing with like-minded people whilst we look after you! We can’t promise there won’t be Gin…
The Venue
his beautiful venue is situated in Ditchingham on the Norfolk/Suffolk border which you are welcome to explore during your stay. Belsey Bridge is home to 20 acres of grounds surrounded by beautiful countryside. The perfect escape.
For your delight, there is also Sew and So’s, a lovely fabric and haberdashery shop in the village of Bungay, not too far away.
Our sewing room is a bright, airy and cosy room which is perfect to allow you to spread out and enjoy the space.
The venue has a comfortable lounge area to relax after hours together with a bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Hot refreshments are available 24 hours a day with Fair-trade tea, coffee and hot chocolate available whenever you’re in need.
Wi-fi is available throughout the building and should you wish to use them, the venue also has tennis courts, a croquet lawn and even an outdoor pool for your use! (Although it may be a little chilly out there in April!)
The Accommodation
All rooms are clean, comfortable and well presented. Each guest will have their own private room with all the necessities you may need for a retreat. The rooms have their own en-suite with towels, soap and toiletries, a hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. Free Wi-fi is also available in all rooms.
Should you have any special requirements for accommodation please do let us know and we will try and accommodate this with the venue. Ground floor rooms, walk in showers etc may be available for those with mobility needs
The Food
You’ll not go hungry on this retreat! Included in the price of this retreat you will receive breakfast, mid-morning coffee, hot or cold lunch dishes, afternoon tea with fresh homemade cakes and evening meals.
Join your fellow attendees in the dining room where we can chat about the day’s plans or events and enjoy locally sourced and fresh cooked food prepared by Belsey Bridge’s experienced chefs.
Should you have any dietary needs please do let us know and these can be catered for.
The Sewing
The retreat is an opportunity for you to create whatever you feel with professional assistance on hand should you need it. Work at your own pace and go with the flow.
Beginner’s are welcome although some experience in sewing will be necessary as this is not a taught course. You’ll need to bring your own sewing machine, supplies and kit (although should you need to borrow a machine, do let us know when booking). Over lockers and ironing boards will be provided for use during the weekend.
The Weekend
We will have the keys to the sewing room so if you wanted to start early or stay there until midnight that’s entirely up to you!
Friday arrival at Belsey Bridge at 3pm in time for afternoon tea, then unpack, unwind and join us for a glass of fizz and introduction to the sewing room!
Sunday lunch will be provided before leaving at 3pm Sunday.
A full timed itinerary will be provided to all attendees.
Price
£420 pp non-members - £380 pp card-holder members
This includes all meals, accommodation, use of facilities and equipment
A non-refundable deposit of £200 is payable upon booking to reserve your place. The remainder of the payment shall be due on 31/05/22.

Terms and Conditions
In the event that you cannot make the retreat for any reason, including for example, but not limited to, Covid19, unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for booking deposits. You may of course transfer your booking to another person however please do provide us with the new persons details. Do check with us as we may have someone on the waiting list who could take your place.
Whilst every care is being taken to ensure safety and security, Norwich Sewcials cannot be held liable for any for any loss or other damages including but not limited to special, incidental, consequential, or any other damages and unforeseen cancellation. We would suggest that personal/travel insurance is taken out.
Norwich Sewcials reserves the right to cancel or postpone this event due to any reason beyond our control such as, but not limited to, Covid-19
Participants must be over 16 years of age.
The retreat is a non-smoking venue.
